Description (last modified by valentt) (diff)

Currently node statistics page shows that 65% of nodes in the network are down.

What kind of message that sends to people?

This looks like we have "bad" network in which more than half nodes are down. Or that we have lack of knowledge to have our network work ok.

We all know that this is not true, but this is what people looking at these "statistics" could easily conclude.

I also proposed that nodes have "inactive" type if they are offline for longer that one month in 1383

Statistics of down nodes should exclude inactive nodes and dead nodes.

Statistics for down nodes should show only ones that are down but still active, not ones that are abandoned long time ago...

Any comments? Do any of suggestions I made make sense to you?

Yes it makes sense, it's just an administrative category. But we first need #1383.

BTW, you can scale images that you attach inline to tickets.

I think we should go over down nodes and decide which one to set to dead. And then dead nodes we should not be displaying in the stats.

Any node that is down for longer that a 3 months should become "dead" automatically.
