Description

For web site we got an idea to have a simple web shop for kits of preinstalled routers with antennas. Because we are buying larger quantities of devices we get them at a lower price and we could provide them at those devices further to people interested in joining the network. This is also important for people to deploy nodes in rural areas where there might be nobody else who already deployed a node. So providing them with a prepared kit ready to mount would help them greatly.

We are using Django CMS for website so probably Django Shop would be a good match for it. But also other applications could be possible if they can be integrated with Django CMS (or Django in general). Also Slovenian payment options should be probably implemented to improve user experience.

One idea was also to have an option for a bundle of wlan slovenija router with one for personal use (with for example DD-WRT). Because often people would also like to upgrade their home equipment at the same time.

I got an idea, that for trusted users (those for example, which already > 2 active and uptime nodes), there could be also an checkbox to get router without firmware. In this way they could choose this so that people preparing and sending routers would have less work to do (and maybe even get it faster). As all work will be volunteer, this is to ease the workload.

OK. Just committed simple Django CMS plugin which provides a "Buy Now" PayPal button. We can then add some description with other plugins above it, add this button and our visitors will be able to buy it. It is not linked to nodewatcher and it does not request the address or map position from the user, but just creates an order in the database and processes the payment. We will have to request this information after the payment through e-mail, for now.

Additionally, it does not ask for donation/roundup or anything.

For future reference, I added new wlan-si.net e-mail address for payment to our PayPal account. And to install the plugin the following has to be done.

OK, so weight shipping calculations are not possible (groan), but the one based on price is. So for selling only one type of router is OK. But for later we have to find a better approach.

I implemented shipping calculator on the server. The only remaining issue is that it seems we do not calculate how much PayPal rate will be so we cannot properly compute how much is the handling costs donation.
